Tonto-Dike1jim-iyke_Naijapals[dot]com
Who says Tonto cannot be reasonable and when her moods allows her, this is truly lovely coming from her, what else is there to say, a real soothing balm for Jim Iyke if you ask me. And Jim did not hide his delight, sounding so matured and calculated, i have no doubt this deliverance is for real. Tonto is the first celebrity to publicly praise Jim for going to SCOAN to be delivered…other Nollywood practitioners think it was an embarrassment
Below is Jim’s reply to Tonto…

Zamfara Bizmen to sponsor wedding of 100 widows to interested suitors -

Alhaji Ibrahim Sani, Chairman Zamfara State Businessmen Association, says the association will sponsor the wedding of 100 widows to interested suitors in the state.

This came about two weeks after about 8000 women including widows, divorcees and spinsters demonstrated over lack of husbands in the state.

Sani told the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in Gusau, yesterday, that the gesture was part of its efforts to complement the state government in reducing the number of widows in the state.

He said that the association decided to intervene considering the increasing number of widows in the state and the need to assist in addressing the problem.

Sani said that all the arrangements toward the exercise had been concluded and a suitable date would soon be fixed.
He said that the association had already contacted the state Ministry for Religious Affairs, Zakkat and Endowment Board as well as the Hisba Commission for their guidance and advice.

Broken homes

He called on the state government to introduce a policy that would regulate the issue of marriage so as to minimise the incidence of broken homes in the state.

Sani urged non-governmental organisations in the state to contribute to the programme as government alone could not cater for the needs of all citizens.

He commended wealthy individuals in the state who already contributed to the programme.

NAN reports that over 8,000 widows in the state had on Sept. 26 appealed to the state government to assist look for suitors and to organise the Kano-style mass wedding for them.

Hoodlums fight over money found on crash victims

Crowd at the site of the crashed Associated Airline plane in Lagos... on Thursday.
Some hoodlums on Thursday were seen exchanging blows and throwing bottles at one another over the money they found on the dead victims of the Associated Airline plane crash.
When our correspondent got to the scene of the incident, he observed that the hoodlums had turned the road leading to the crash site to a boxing ground.
It was learnt that when the hoodlums were assisting in the evacuation of the victims, they allegedly searched the victims’ pockets for money and other valuable things.
It was also learnt that they fight ensued due to alleged ‘insincerity’ in the sharing of the money they stole from the dead.
One of the hoodlums, identified simply as Loko, was heard saying, “You won’t believe that after the whole rescue thing, we luckily found money and they don’t want to share it equally.”

FORMER president Olusegun Obasanjo's son Gbenga has been confirmed as one of the casualties of today's plane crash in Lagos when a private aircraft crash-landed shortly after take-off.

In a ghastly tragedy, the charted flight carrying the remains of former Ondo State governor Segun Agagu, crash-landed shortly after take-off. Bound for Akure where his funeral holds tomorrow, the Associated Airlines burst into flames almost immediately it was airborne and so far, 16 of the 27 passengers on board have been confirmed dead.

Apart from Segun Obasanjo, Dr Agagu's wife and his children, along with several Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) topshots are said to be among the fatalities. In addition, the son of former presidential aspirant Chief Olu Falae and Mr Okusanya of MIC Caskets who make the coffin also died in the crash.

They were all bound for Akure where they were to attend tomorrow's funeral, with most of the passengers accompanying the family as a goodwill gesture. So far, authorities have confirmed that there are five survivors from the crash who have been taken to hospital.

Also, the casket containing the remains of the former governor has been recovered and has been deposited in the nearby naval base in Ikeja. Aviation ministry spokesman Joe Obi, said there were few survivors from the horrific crash.

He added: “The plane couldn’t lift properly so it just came down. Some persons are being rushed to hospital and a few dead bodies have been recovered but there are survivors.”

Chartered from the Associated Airlines with seven crew members and and 20 passengers, the private aircraft came down in the Oshodi area of Lagos. When contacted, Yakubu Dati, the communications manager of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria confirmed that the casualties

Kate Henshaw Is Very Much Single-

The 42 year old actress who separated from her husband in 2011 speaks on why she is still single and the reason she is only focusing on her career for now…

I just decided that, ok, it didn’t work. Next, I had to move on. There is no need holding on to the past – no need holding on to something if it’s not working any more. There is no need flogging a dead horse since it is already lifeless. And when you decide to bury the horse, would you not leave the grave site afterwards? You would go now. Anything that happens to you now, that sun would still set, another day would come. So, it’s your choice to either be part of the living or be in the grave yard. And I choose to be alive, enjoy my life and smile at everything that is happening – good or bad. As long as God is with you, things would always be fine with you.

I’m not thinking about anything. At the moment, I’m facing my career. If it comes, fine. If it doesn’t come, that’s okay. It’s not the end of the world because I’m convinced that God loves me.
Love has given me more than enough. I have the most gorgeous daughter in the whole world. That’s enough for me.

‘Prof.Wole Soyinka narrates how he Escaped Kenyan West Gate Mall Attack’-

Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, has said that the late Ghanaian diplomat and poet, Kofi Awoonor and himself could have been together at the Storymoja/Hay Literature Festival held in Nairobi, Kenya.
He said he was invited to the same festival but could not attend.
Awoonor was killed by terrorists last Saturday at the Westgate Shopping Mall shooting in Nairobi.
Soyinka said two commitments: a public conversation with a very brave individual, Karima Bennoune, an Algerian national, whose trenchant publication – Your Fatwa Does Not Apply Here, and the annual conference of international investigators in Tunis, were responsible for his inability to attend the festival.
He said: “My absence was particularly regrettable, because I had planned to make up for my failure to turn up for the immediate prior edition. Participant or absentee however, this is one edition we shall not soon forget. It was at least two days after the listing of Kofi Awoonor among the victims that I even recollected the fact that the Festival was ongoing at that very time.
“With that realisation came another: that Kofi and I could have been splitting a bottle at that same watering hole in between events and at the end of each day. My feelings, I wish to state clearly, did not undergo any changes. The emotions of rage, hate and contempt remained on the same qualitative and quantitative levels,” he added.
Soyinka spoke in Lagos yesterday during a memorial reading session tagged Humanity and Against and held in honour of the late Ghanaian poet.
He described the late Awoonor as a passionate African who gave primacy of place to values derived from his Ewe heritage. “That, in turn, means that he was thoroughly imbued with the spirit of ecumenism towards other systems of belief and cultural usages – this being the scriptural ethos that permeates belief practices of most of this continent. We mourn our colleague and brother, but first, we denounce his killers, the virulent sub-species of humanity who bathe their hands in innocent blood,” he added.
Renowned poet, Prof JP Clark explained why Soyinka and himself were not at the funeral of the late Chinua Achebe at Ogidi, Anambra State, blaming it on politicians that hijacked the funeral. He noted that Prof Soyinka and himself did not sit and plot action on whether or not to attend Achebe’s funeral in Ogidi.
“Politicians hijacked the Achebe’s funeral. I said to myself, if there is life after death, Achebe would be laughing at the politicians. So, writers could not have found a space in Achebe’s funeral. From the President to the Governors, they hijacked it,” he noted.
Clark said critics might be wondering why a memorial is being held in honour of Awoonor in Lagos unlike when Chinua Achebe died.
President of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Prof Remi Raji, who read from his collection of poems, The Fire Next Time, said of the late Ghanaian poet: “African literature has indeed lost an influential voice. The name, Kofi Awoonor, was very present in our minds as young students. Though I never met him in person, his writings have been influential. The ANA has sent a condolence letter to the Ghana authority. Today’s memorial is very instructive. His death is a reflection of the urban barbarisms in the globe today.”
Other scholars who read excerpts at the memorial were Prof Kole Omotoso, Prof Femi Osofisan, Dr. Wale Okediran and Lola Shoneyin.

Jim Iyke’s Synagogue church deliverance video goes viral

This is not a movie. The video captured the actor thrashing about and in fits as a group of men believed to be part of a prayer team at the church battled to restrain him while another continued to scream “Out!!”
