Nigeria’s disintegration might become a reality – Ngige

ONITSHA – A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Chief Emeka Ngige has warned that Nigeria’s disintegration as a country was gradually becoming a reality emanating from the manner political affairs are being conducted in the country..
Speaking on the heels of the irregularities that marred the Nov 16 Anambra State governorship election which the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared inconclusive, Ngige stated that the best option open for  INEC was outright cancellation of the entire election which he said was characterized by all forms of unacceptable election standards.
He warned that if INEC goes ahead to conduct the November 30 supplementary election in the state, the election umpire would be setting a precedent for speedy disintegration of Nigeria in 2015.
According to the Ngige, “Nigeria should be ready to accept the US prediction that the country would disintegrate in 2015 going by the seeming outcome of Anambra governorship election”.
The legal icon further declared: “INEC chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega has admitted that he failed in Anambra. It would happen in 2015 presidential election when INEC is expected to declare Presidential results in favour of President Goodluck Jonathan and that would mark the end of Nigeria as a united country.”.
He dismissed the acceptance of the initial “faulty” results by a section of the traditional rulers in the State implying that some of them were “cash and carry” traditional rulers who have lost their conscience and values because of monetary gains.
He accused President Jonathan and Jega for preparing the ground to impose Obiano as governor on the people of the state, adding,.Jega is trying to emulate jos predecessor, Prof. Maurice Iwu, but it can not stand the test of time. as Obiano would be kicked out in three months as there are weighty evidences against him”.
Ngige who expressed immense sadness over INEC “dirty” role in Anambra election, contended that Jega has not only disappointed Anambra people, but the entire Nigerians who had thought he was a better referee than Iwu and warned that if the country burns, Jega and his INEC commissioners should be held responsible.
He added that the only option left for Jega and his INEC was to cancel the entire Anambra governorship election and fix a date for fresh one as major opposition parties had already expressed their willingness to boycott the Nov 30 supplementary episode.

ANGOLA BECOMES THE FIRST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD TO BAN ISLAM AND MUSLIMS -

Fear of radical Islam is not the preserve of
Westerners. Indeed, in October, Angola, hostile
actions have been conducted in several cities.

Several officials have spoken on the subject.
The governor of Luanda summarized the act
stating that Muslims were not welcome in
Angola and that the government would not
legalize the presence of mosques in the
country.

"This is the final end of islamic influence in our
country", said the President, José Eduardo dos
Santos.

The Minister of Culture, Rosa Cruz went in the
same direction by stating that: "The process of
legalization of Islam has not been approved by
the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, their
mosques will be closed until further notice."
The Angolan government has decided to
destroy the country's mosques, Islam is not
considered a religion in its own right in the
country. Last October, the minaret of a mainly
frequented by Guinean mosque was
dismantled.

In the urban commune of Zango,
the municipality has gone further by destroying
the only mosque in the city.
More will follow.

President Goodluck Jonathan Discharged From London Hospital

Amazingly, President Goodluck Jonathan, who clocked 56 two days ago found himself in an undisclosed London hospital where he spent a night before he was discharged today.
FAAS learnt that President Goodluck was admitted in the London hospital yesterday and was diagnosed of stomach problem.

However, after a night in the hospital, he was discharged few hours ago, today. Currently, he is in a meeting at the Investor’s Council.

Yar’Adua Was Poisoned By Obasanjo's Kitchen Staff! — Professor Ukandi G. Damachi

Nigeria's Former President Ibrahim Babangida long term confidant Professor Ukandi G. Damachi had allegedlly told the United states council that former president Yar'Adua was poisoned by Ex President Obasanjo's Kitchen staff.
undefinedAccording to Wiki leaks Professor Ukandi G. Damachi who is a friend to the US consul, He told them in secrecy about the alleged poisoning.

Professor Ukandi G. Damachi is a friend to US consul, long term confidant to Nigeria’s past president Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida with privy to Nigeria’s government workings inside information.
The Wikileaks cable, reference ID 08LAGOS153, described in Professor Damachi’s narration, that late president Yar’Adua was given poison in his food, “his food was poisoned”, he alleged. Further stating that the president inherited his predecessor, president Obasanjo’s kitchen, and these kitchen staff were likely used to poison Nigeria’s president. The professor further revealed that when president Yar’Adua realized this he fired the Obasanjo kitchen staff.
He Said: “There are lots of problems in Nigeria.” The first problem, he said, is the President’s illness; “his food was poisoned”, Damachi alleged. Asked whether he meant “food poisoning” or that someone had deliberately poisoned the President’s food, Damachi shrugged, replying “The President inherited Obasanjo’s kitchen staff”; Yar’Adua has now fired them all, and the kitchen has been cleaned out following the incident, Damachi said.At the same time, Damachi went on, the President did attend functions on both the Saturday and Sunday preceding his illness and ate some food at both of them. “What President eats at a function?”, Damachi asked rhetorically. The President was so sick that the day he signed the budget, he was unable to sign a second piece of legislation awaiting his approval…”
Late Yar’Adua Yar’Adua was known to have stepped hard on his predecessors toes. Upon entering office president Yar’Adua, described by his wife as a very honest man who left no wealth behind; seriously went after the reversal of Nigeria’s public assets that his predecessor had sold to his allies, Aliku Dangote and Femi Otedola.
“In the weeks leading up to Obasanjo’s departure, Dangote’s privately held company has also scooped up a cement plant, a telecoms licence and mining concessions in a rush of privatisations that has triggered accusations of cronyism by opposition parties.”
By July of 2007, barely 2 months into office, Yar’Adua had held meetings with Bureau for Public Enterprises (BPE), to querry the sale of Nigeria’s refineries to Obasanjo’s henchmen, Aliku Dangote and tycoon Otedola. BPE reportedly justified the sale to Bluestar, saying it was transparent, but the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) faulted it, and maintained that the corporation was capable of running them efficiently.
President Yar’Adua “after considering the facts presented to him, the President directed that the sale should be revoked as the exercise was not transparent enough. The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) praised President Yar’Adua for the revocation of the privatization of the refineries.” Dangote And former president Obasanjo Dangote And former president Obasanjo President Yar’Adua, determined to recover Nigeria’s infrastructure and assets coveted by Obasanjo and his cronies, moved on to other government assets.
Yar’Adua also suffered from chronic allergic disorder and this was easily attributed to be the direct cause of his death.
The possibility of the poisoning to death of a Nigerian serving head of State will amount to a grievous crime. The exhumation of late President Yar’Adua’s body may be necessitated as well as a thorough investigation of ll who may have been involved in the murder of a president in office.
Late Palestinian premier, Yasser Arafat was recently exhumed due to evidence of polonium poisoning as an investigation into alleged Israeli intelligence poisoning was reopened.

ANAMBRA ELECTION PROTESTERS ARE NOT IGBOS – Obi’s Aide

The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Peter Obi on media and publicity has called on the good people of Anambra State to remain calm over what he called the stage-managed protest against the November 16th election.

Obienyem said that investigations revealed that those who protested, especially those women that pretended to be crying were imported into Anambra State from Osun State in five chartered luxurious buses. Ngige and his group wanted protest at all costs, but when our people, who already know him for what he is, refused they had to go to Osun State.

Obienyem said that even yesterday they imported some boys from Imo State to protest as students. “The Vice Chancellor of Nnandi Azikiwe, who has taken the university to great heights, Prof. Egboka was alarmed when contacted on phone, he had to rush down to that school for investigations. Having discovered that those involved were not his students, he said, ‘please beware of those evil men who lost. I’ve checked with all my relevant officials; the story of UNIZIK Students is fallacious! We’ve our respects, belief and integrity, more so, students are not in the school right now.’ ”

Obienyem said on further investigations and interrogation of the boys they confessed that APC people paid them N1,500 each and chartered the buses that conveyed them from Imo State to Anambra.

Insisting that the November 16th election was one of the best in Nigeria, Obienyem wondered while Igbos and all men of good will commend the election while only Ngige and his APC people are against it.

TRUE REASONS WHY BON IS THREATENING TO BAN NIGERIAN MUSIC

COSON believes that the time has come to ask Malam Jijiwa to step aside as Director-General Of Voice of Nigeria. His open affront on the policies and decisions of the government paying his salaries are baffling and inexplicable and the fire he is allowing himself to be used to stoke can lead to consequences that the Nigerian nation will regret. Serious members of BON also need to get clear answers as to what is being done in their name and whose interest, their Executive Secretary, Mr Segun Olaleye is serving. For instance, it will be necessary to establish who called and who attended the ‘emergency meeting’ where it was decided that free Nigerians who have committed no offence should be banned from the airwaves of their nation.~ Chinedu Chukwuji (GM, COSON)

GUO Motors boss kidnappers nearly forced him to join in bank robbery –

ONITSHA  — The Chairman of G. U. O. Motors Limited, Chief Godwin Ubaka Okeke, yesterday, told an Onitsha High Court in Anambra State, presided over by Justice Chudi Nwankwo, that his kidnappers nearly forced him to join them in a bloody bank robbery operation which they carried out while he was still their hostage.
This came a day after they kidnapped him for ransom in Onitsha on Sunday, August 23, 2009.
At a resumed hearing of his evidence-in-chief, yesterday, Okeke who said he was later released on Monday evening between 7 and 8 p.m, a day after his abduction, gave a blow-by-blow account of his encounter with them in their various camps.
Godwin Okeke
Godwin Okeke
Okeke told the court: “Few hours after my breadfruit meal with them on that fateful Sunday afternoon at a bungalow between Adazi-Enu and Neni, when I offered them N1 billion, as against N100 million they demanded, which made them to have a special joy and went into a relaxed mood, I now settled down for  serious negotiation with them.
The CBN directive
“I reminded them of the newly introduced CBN policy which stated that all those who were heavily indebted to various commercial banks in the country would have their names published in the national dailies and at the same time, have their accounts in the banks frozen.
“I told them that it was left for them to accept whatever amount my wife could mop up before the bank could freeze all my accounts in the bank since I was actually heavily indebted to many banks in the country.
“I specifically told them that my wife could mobilise at least something in the neighbourhood of N30 million for now.
“On hearing me mention something like N30 million only, the second defendant, Anthony Ifeanyi Okafor, became furious at once and hammered an enlarged photograph on my head. Not satisfied with that, Okafor picked up a machete and pierced my left hand and blood started gushing out and I used his handkerchief to tie the wounded hand, just like I used my shirt to tie my bullet wounded leg.
“At that point, a woman carrying a child on her back entered the compound to visit the owners, but her entry rattled them so much so that they wanted to grip her but she managed to wriggle herself out of the compound and in an attempt to track her down, Okafor’s gun dropped on the ground and started firing by itself.
“Following the bangs from the firing gun, the gang leader blamed Okafor for his carelessness and at once, all of them hurriedly packed their weapons into their vehicles and left the compound for another, somewhere in Adazi-Nnukwu.
“They remained there for few hours and  left again for Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of the state, driving through Nnobi/Nnewi road where they snatched at least three vehicles. On getting to Ozubulu at about 10 p.m, I requested them to allow me time to sleep and they did and I dozed off.
“About 1 a.m, on Monday, they woke me up, drove off again and landed at a very big farmland at Amenyi, Awka around 4 a.m. At about noon, I requested them to give me lunch and my blood pressure, BP, drugs to take.
“They asked me what I would like to eat for lunch and what type of drug and I told them fried rice and chicken and Venox drug for my BP. They quickly arranged for the food and drug which I took.
They nearly involved  me in bank robbery
“After that, the kidnappers, numbering up to 16, gathered, brought out a liquid substance mixed up with roots, herbs and native hot drink which I suspected to be protective charm (Odieshi) and started taking  shots one after the other and I asked them to give me and they asked whether I knew what the substance was all about and I replied yes and they gave me and I also drank.
“While they were taking the substance, they were discussing how to carry out a  bank robbery operation at Awka that same afternoon. They told me that with the Odieshi, I could join them for the operation but I told them that if the police and soldiers happened to confront them, I would join the police and army in disarming them and their leader now directed that I should be left out of it.”
Ransom payment  and release
On how ransom was paid and his eventual release, Okeke said: “They squeezed me inside one of the vehicles with four of them, while the rest took off for the bank robbery. The four of them with me were patrolling around Agulu/Nibo/Nise road inside the vehicle.
“While  on patrol, they were establishing contact with my family members over the ransom and at the same time establishing contact with those on bank robbery, until they now told my family where to drop the ransom. They even gave me phone to listen to the blasts at the bank premises during the operation and I actually heard the heavy sound of weapons.
“Before my family members arrived the designated venue which was close to Neni police station to drop the ransom, some of their members who went for the bank robbery operation had returned. When eventually my family members arrived with the ransom at about 7 p.m., they shoved off my driver from the wheel and collected the money, my Toyota SUV with which the ransom was brought and zoomed off, telling me and my driver to go home with one of the vehicles they snatched from someone else.
“As they left with my SUV and the ransom, they forgot one of their rocket launchers inside the snatched vehicle and I decided to drive straight to Neni police station to make an entry. Policemen actually admitted hearing the sounds of the guns but pleaded that they don’t have enough manpower and matching sophisticated weapons to confront the kidnappers.
“I now pleaded with the policemen to escort me home which they did by driving me and my driver to my residence at Onitsha with the snatched vehicle while they took the vehicle and the rocket launcher back to the police station.”

Would the Mafia target Pope Francis over Vatican reforms?

(CNN) -- "I don't know if organized criminals have the capability to do something to the Pope. But they are certainly thinking about it."
These words, uttered in a recent interview by an Italian anti-Mafia prosecutor, don't quite justify the alarming worldwide headlines they provoked, but at the same time it would be rash to dismiss them out of hand.
The new Pope represents a serious threat to some established criminal interests at a critical moment in the long history of the Mafias' relationship with Catholicism -- a past marked by both intimacy and violence.
John Dickie
John Dickie
Italy's Mafia problem is as old as the Italian state. The three major Mafias -- the Camorra, the 'Ndrangheta, and Cosa Nostra -- originated in the political violence that led up to Italian unification in 1860. But only in 1993 did a Pope explicitly denounce the Mafia. Speaking in Sicily, John Paul II warned mobsters that God's judgement was at hand. Cosa Nostra's own verdict on the Pope's words came two months later, when it planted bombs that seriously damaged two ancient churches in Rome.
Before that epoch-making rupture, mafiosi and priests had rubbed along pretty well. The reasons were political. The Church loathed the new Italian state because its unification had robbed the Pontiff of his earthly kingdom, leaving him only with the Vatican City. So the Church looked elsewhere for pious sources of authority. And Mafia bosses have always been good at dressing up as devout paladins of order.
The local saint's day, when a statue is carried through the streets amid prayers and singing, is the focal point of the calendar in many Italian towns and villages. All too often, the local capo would place himself at the head of the parade. The 'Ndrangheta even used a religious festival as cover for its annual general meeting. Since the 1890s, the bosses from across Calabria have gathered in early September at the Festival of the Madonna of Polsi.

During the Cold War, the Church stood firmly in the anti-communist camp. Mafia bosses had every interest in posing as bulwarks against the red menace because it helped them cosy up to the Christian Democrats -- the Catholic political party that held power until 1994. In 1964, the Cardinal Archbishop of Palermo denounced any talk of the Mafia as a Communist plot to besmirch Sicily. In 1982, John Paul II visited Palermo in the middle of an underworld war that saw hundreds killed, and he did not once use the M-word.
