We Have Enough Money to Finance our Contracts to Completion – Gov. Peter Obi


Even while many contracts are going on in Anambra State in all the sectors as the State has never witnessed in the past, Gov. Peter Obi goes on flagging more contracts. In the last one week, he flagged of four roads, some in the most difficult areas of the State that many minds are agitated. Fully aware of this, he assured the people of Anambra State that his Government thrives on planning and that the money for all the contracts being awarded had already been saved. He made this remarks during the flag-off of Iyiowa-Odekwe Road at Okpoko recently. 
Amidst applause from the populace and placards acknowledging Obi as the first Governor to visit the area and to do road work in the place, Obi assured them that the work would be completed within the life span of his Government. He also cautioned them against recklessness and in discriminate dumping of refuse into culverts. 
The Governor who recalled many roads and projects his Government has executed in the area, including the on-going Atani-Ogwuikpele-Ochuche road, the on-going Atani-Ozubulu road, with three bridges; the transformers, the many schools renovated, electrification of some towns, among others, called on them to continue to support the Government through fulfilling their civic responsibilities.
In his remarks earlier, the State Commissioner for Works, Arc Callistus Ilozumba said that the contractor handling the project – IDR – had been tested and assured that he would deliver quality job according to specifications. He called on the people of the area to take ownership of the project by cooperating with the contactor and reporting any shoddiness to the Ministry.
He restated the determination of his administration to build a State everybody will be proud of and expressed satisfaction that conducive business environment has been created that is attracting investors from far and near.
